uControl

A financial operations app for drivers and couriers.

Problem

Many app drivers and couriers work every day without a clear view of their real profit after fuel, maintenance, depreciation and time.

Product hypothesis

If the app reduces the friction of financial tracking and shows real profit clearly, part of the user base will return to record their operation and make better decisions.

Execution

The product was built and shipped end to end:

  • iOS app
  • Android app
  • Firebase backend
  • Analytics events
  • Google Ads acquisition
  • Landing page
  • Dashboards
  • Product iteration based on activation and retention data

Data and traction

  • +360 users in the first month
  • +900 saved records
  • 357 active users in 30 days
  • 171 active users in 7 days
  • v5.0 in production

Numbers reflect the early production stage and are used to guide product decisions, not vanity metrics.

Product evolution

The v5.0 release introduced Express Mode to reduce the main activation barrier: the effort of recording every ride individually. Users can now choose between Detailed Mode and Express Mode, preserving accuracy for advanced users while reducing friction for daily tracking.

Business model

uControl is free for drivers. Monetization is being structured through a Benefits Program, where partner brands can offer relevant discounts and advantages to a niche audience with recurring mobility-related expenses.

What this proves

This case demonstrates full-cycle product capability: problem framing, UX, engineering, launch, acquisition, analytics, iteration and monetization strategy.
